Anime Boruto được chuyển thể từ bộ truyện cùng tên được sáng tác bởi hai tác giả Ukyō Kodachi và Mikie Ikemoto. Bộ truyện lần đầu tiên được ra mắt trên Weekly Shonen Jump vào ngày 9 tháng 5 năm 2016.
